Who We Are
The St. Joe County Sheriff Posse is a group of volunteer reserve officers that patrol on horseback, enforce laws, and provide crowd control to maintain public safety. You’ve probably seen us at the County Fair and at Notre Dame home games!
Our mounted police unit is commissioned by the St. Joe County Sheriff and we operate as a Not For Profit.
What We Do
Our mounted police unit performs a variety of duties, including crowd control at events, patrolling public spaces, search and rescue operations in rural areas, and ceremonial duties at parades and funerals.
Throughout the year, we participate in a variety of community events representing the St. Joe County Police Department to help build a partnership between the police and the community.
